Bassoon

Dutch-American violinist Maren Bosma (1996) started playing the violin at age 7, and aged 14 was accepted into the Conservatory of Amsterdam’s Sweelinck Academy for Young Talent studying with Lex Korff de Gidts.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the CvA with a minor in Theory of Music, and received her Master’s degree in 2019 with Distinction from the Royal College of Music in London, under the tutelage of Gabrielle Lester and Daniel Rowland.

Maren has held various concertmaster positions in the UK and the Netherlands and is a passionate chamber musician. She has performed at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, and at the Benedict Music Tent in Aspen, CO.

After putting her violin away, she enjoys working on her various academic studies, trying out new recipes in the kitchen (often without much success), and spending quality time with her cat.
