Chromatica Orchestra is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musical talent.
The orchestra brings together outstanding young orchestral players with brilliant soloists and early-career conductors to build memorable musical experiences for our audiences in traditional concert halls as well as unexpected spaces.
As an orchestra for the 21st century, we aspire to be inclusive, collaborative, accessible and responsible for the impact that we have on the world.
Emerging Conductor Fellowship
As part of our commitment to emerging professional talent, we have introduced an Emerging Conductor Fellowship. Our Fellows will lead complete performances, define programmes and guide repertoire choices throughout the season. In our inaugural season, we are proud to welcome Charlotte Politi, who was a Fellow Conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra for 2023/24 and is the Constant Lambert Associate with the Royal Ballet, and Tess Jackson, who was recently named a Classic FM ‘Rising Star’ and is currently Associate Conductor of the National Youth Orchestra, with whom she recently debuted at the BBC Proms to critical acclaim.
Our Founding Artistic Director Peter Manning comments: “I am thrilled to welcome Charlotte and Tess as our inaugural emerging conductors. Both are very exciting artists who have quickly gained recognition for their exceptional talents. I am confident that their contributions will not only inspire our musicians but also resonate deeply with our audiences.”
Orchestrate Engaging in the community
The circle of support for young talent is completed by our Orchestrate programme through which we work with secondary schools to help form and develop school orchestras. The programme provides an opportunity for the students to perform side-by-side with Chromatica Orchestra players throughout the year in rehearsals and in concerts.
